Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse - $2,170 per week
About the role
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a maternal infant unit located in Richmond, Virginia. This position involves providing specialized care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, including routine vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and care for antepartum patients. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety and high-quality maternity care.
Responsibilities
The unit comprises 24 beds staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB technicians, secretaries, leadership, and educators. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 for labor patients and approximately 5-6:1 for postpartum and nursery care. Equipment used includes GE fetal monitors, with an electronic medical record system utilizing Meditech. The unit operates every third weekend, with 12 hours of on-call duty per four-week schedule.
Requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Fetal monitoring certification
Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of labor experience, with a background working in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with high birth volumes. Float rotation may be required.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
