About the role
Travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery position in Salem, Massachusetts. This is a Day Rotator role with one night of call and every other weekend (EOW), offering 36 or 48 hours per week. The position involves rotating shifts between 7:00am to 7:30pm, 11:00am to 11:30pm, and 7:00pm to 7:30am. Straight day shifts are not available.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn units
- Circulate in operating rooms (ORs)
- Manage patient ratios: 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor (including magnesium drips or epidurals), and 1:3-4 for postpartum care
- Rotate between day, evening, and night shifts as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- BLS, NRP, and EFM certifications (EFM required every 2 years for L&D)
- Skills in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulating, and Newborn Care
- AHA ACLS (preferred)

Brief Description: 25-bed unit encompassing L&D, Postpartum (PP), Newborn Nursery (NBN), 2 ORs, 2 Recovery Rooms (RR), and 2 Antepartum/Neonatal Units (ANU) with 4 beds.
Bed Count: 5 LD rooms, 12 PP beds, 2 ORs, 2 RR, and 2 ANU rooms
Census: Average daily census of 15-25 mothers, babies, and labors
EMR: EPIC
Floating: Not required
