Junxion Med Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for an assignment in Lafayette, Indiana. This 12-week position starts on September 1, 2026, with a 36-hour workweek on 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, including C-sections with salpingectomy
  • Manage patients with SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, and antenatal conditions
  • Triage obstetrical patients and handle high-risk deliveries
  • Operate and monitor special equipment: CADD epidural pumps, birthing/peanut balls, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitoring (wired/wireless), Periwatch, Steadys, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger Radiant warmers, Vein light, and v scan
  • Perform sterile vaginal exams, assist with deliveries (vaginal and C-section), and provide postpartum care
  • Administer medications and therapies: Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure drugs, insulin drips, and blood products
  • Conduct fetal monitoring (EFM, IFM, IUPC) and interpret abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Provide neonatal resuscitation, newborn assessments, and couplet care
  • Manage postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and other high-risk conditions
  • Perform procedures: amnioinfusion, circumcision assistance, epidural anesthesia, forceps/vacuum extraction, and umbilical cord sampling
  • Educate patients on breastfeeding, car seat safety, circumcision care, and discharge instructions
  • Document care in Cerner charting system
  • Float to Maternal-Child Health (MCH) units as required
  • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Indiana (must be in hand before start date; no pending licenses accepted)
  • 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Experience with Cerner charting system
  • ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing degree
  • Two supervisor references
  • Preferred: Charge experience and community hospital experience

  • Procedures: amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction, epidural management, sterile vaginal exams
  • Patient education (breastfeeding, circumcision care, car seat safety, discharge teaching)
  • Management of complications: preeclampsia, HELLP, uterine rupture, preterm labor, PPROM
  • Use of specialized equipment (Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitoring, Periwatch, radiant warmers)
