Travel Labor and Delivery RN - $1,845 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Lancaster, Ohio. This 8-week assignment involves 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, with a start date of September 28, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery
• Ensure both medical and emotional needs of patients are met throughout the birthing process
• Assist physicians when epidurals or pain medications are administered
• Assist with episiotomies and preparation for cesarean deliveries
• Stay with and monitor patients throughout labor
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation
• Keep beds clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after birthing process
• Aid physicians with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, and other supplies
• Provide immediate care of newborns

Requirements

• 3 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• EFM certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Good skills for coping with stress in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
