About the Role

- Drawing venous blood
- Epidural anesthesia management
- Episiotomy/incisional care
- Foley catheter insertion/management
- Forceps/vacuum extraction
- Fundus/lochia/perineum care
- General anesthesia management
- Hemorrhage/shock management
- ID/security banding and infant identification
- Isolation precautions/PPE
- LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) care
- Magnesium sulfate therapy
- Mother/baby care
- Multiple births
- Newborn assessment and hypoglycemia management
- NST (Non-Stress Tests)
- Opioid administration
- Antepartum care
- Assist with circumcision and post-op site assessment
- Baby-friendly protocols
- Collect cord samples

- Facility with fewer than 100 births/month
- Level I nursery care

- Spiral electrode placement
- Teach circumcision care to parents
- Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
- Postpartum hemorrhage management
- Prostaglandins administration
- Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Reflex checks, edema assessment, clonus
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Sterile vaginal exams
- Terbutaline administration
- Thermoregulation
- Triage of obstetrical patients
- Tubal ligation
- Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- Use of electric/manual breast pumps
- Use of external and internal fetal monitoring
- Use of infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
- Use of PCA (IV)
- Vaccine administration
- Vaginal delivery
- Wound assessment/care
Requirements
- 1 year of experience
- NRP and BLS certifications
- Active MO license or Compact License (quick application process, typically 2 weeks or less)
