Pay

$1,893 to $2,097 weekly. Pay includes taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.

Schedule

• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Start date: 09/14/2026

Responsibilities & Skills

• Administration of blood & blood products
• Antepartum and high-risk antepartum care
• APGAR scores and newborn assessment
• Assist with vaginal delivery and cesarean section
• Car seat education and discharge teaching to parents
• Couplet care (mother/baby)
• Drawing venous blood and starting/maintaining IVs
• Epidural anesthesia management
• Episiotomy/incisional care and fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Foley catheter insertion/management
• Hemorrhage/shock and postpartum hemorrhage management
• ID/security banding and infant identification
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Labor & delivery, including sterile vaginal exams and triage of obstetrical patients
• Level I nursery care
• Magnesium sulfate therapy and antihypertensives
• Newborn hypoglycemia and thermoregulation (radiant warmers)
• Non-stress tests (NST) and oxytocin challenge tests (OCT)
• Pain assessment & management
• Pitocin (oxytocin) administration
• Pregnancy-induced hypertension management
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus
• Sterile speculum exams (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)
• Terbutaline administration
• Use of EFM (external fetal heart monitoring) and infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
• Vaginal delivery assistance

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM
• Licensure: Active NC license or compact license
