Junxion Med Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Labor and Delivery assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana.

About the role

This 13-week travel assignment starts on August 10, 2026, with a 12-hour night shift and a total of 48 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Non-Stress Tests (NST) and reflex checks (edema assessment, clonus)
  • Use External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and Internal Fetal Monitoring
  • Manage conditions such as diabetes mellitus, malpresentations (breech/face/brow), multiple gestation, placenta previa/abruptio, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, and RH incompatibilities
  • Administer blood and blood products, draw venous blood, and start/maintain peripheral IVs
  • Manage medications including antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin (oxytocin), prostaglandins, and terbutaline
  • Perform amnioinfusion and assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
  • Use forceps/vacuum extraction and manage hemorrhage/shock
  • Recover post-cesarean section patients and perform APGAR scoring
  • Provide neonatal resuscitation and thermoregulation using radiant warmers
  • Conduct infant identification, newborn assessment, and manage newborn hypoglycemia
  • Assist with epidural and general anesthesia, and manage pain assessment
  • Insert Foley catheters and provide fundus/lochia/perineum care
  • Perform wound assessment and care
  • Manage vaginal and cesarean deliveries, bladder distension, and couplet care
  • Handle multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Administer vaccines and operate Cerner systems
  • Float to Methodist Hospital ED to provide OB-specific care alongside a primary RN

Requirements

  • Active RN license (must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications are submitted)
  • 1.5+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery (2–3 years required; high-risk OB unit experience preferred)
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (ACLS and AWHONN Beginner or C-EFM also accepted)
  • Experience with 200–300 facility births per month
  • Travel nursing experience in L&D
  • Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • Two supervisor references
