Registered Nurse - Perinatal Care
Schedule: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Weekend requirements consist of 4 shifts per 6-week schedule.

Job Description
The competent Nurse in a perinatal clinical setting practices independently, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of care for patients. Responsibilities include providing both routine and complex nursing care while managing contingencies effectively. The nurse will make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to assist in managing the clinical situation. Responsibilities
Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
  • Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
  • Current BLS certification (AHA only).
  • Current NRP certification.
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA only).
  • RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
