Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $3,640 per week

About the role

• Four 10-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Weekend rotation is call only
• On-call required with 7-10 call shifts per month; 5 days every 3 weeks from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 45-minute response time required for call shifts
• 1 holiday per contract required (call only)
• No sleep room available on-site
• Perform outpatient and inpatient radiology cases including diagnostic imaging, CT and MRI support
• Case types include bedside procedures, drain placement and removal, PICC/CVL/Port placement, arteriogram, taps, biopsies, PV cases, neuro angiogram, embolization, and grafts/fistulas
• Trauma cases are majority of call
• No pediatric patients
• 10-20 procedures per day
• Typical room staffing: 1 RN + 2 Techs or 2 RN + 1 Tech per room
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• May float to CT when accompanying own patient
• One week orientation with four 10-hour training shifts
• Scrubs provided

• Must sign in/out of agency staffing binder in the Nursing office each shift

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years scrub experience and 2 years procedural experience in Cath Lab or IR required
• First-time travelers accepted with 5+ years of IR experience
• Required certifications: ARRT or RTR, IEMA, BLS; ACLS preferred
• Strong scrub/sterile technique required
• Ability to use cardiac wires and catheters required
• Bedside procedure experience with nurse or MD required
• Transport with RN required
• Portable C-arm experience preferred
• EMR: EPIC experience preferred; EPIC training must be completed before seeing patients

Facility

This 285-bed facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with Magnet Designation and a Level III NICU. The interventional radiology department operates three procedural labs and two holding bays for diagnostic imaging, supported by charge nurses, physicians, PAs, code and RRT teams, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and hospitalists available 24/7. The unit maintains a strong focus on safety and efficient patient care across a wide range of complex interventional procedures.

Equipment includes Portable C-arm Phillips, Angiojet, Shockwave, and Penumbra. IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis.

Pay

Estimated gross weekly pay: $3,640 plus a $500 contract completion bonus.
