About the role
Position: Technologist - Interventional Radiology. The position comprises four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with a random day off during the week. The individual may be required to float across different campuses.
Shift & Schedule
- 40 hours per week, 10-hour day shifts
- Monday to Friday with one random weekday off
- Float required across different campuses
On-Call Requirements
- 1-2 nights per week and every third weekend
- On-call hours: 7 PM Friday to 7 AM Monday
- Emergency coverage coordinated by one call team across two facilities, mainly handling emergencies at the level I trauma center
Unit Information
- Average number of cases per day: 25
- Patient types: Vascular procedures
- Key responsibilities: scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 months of vascular procedure experience in a hospital or medical center setting
- Experience scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring is essential
- Prior experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab is necessary
- Current or prior experience supporting Operating Room procedures is required
- Peripheral vascular experience is essential
- Experience in a level I trauma setting is preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Iowa Radiology license: highly preferred; candidates with licensure in process will be considered
- Active ARRT (R) or RCIS/CCI certification is required
- ARRT (CI or VI) certification is preferred
- Current BLS (AHA) certification is preferred
- Valid driver's license is required
- Documentation of ARRT certification is required
- Documentation of Iowa Radiology license is highly preferred, with consideration given to the licensing timeline for inactive candidates
Profile Requirements
- Work history must reflect 12 months of current experience in interventional vascular/IR lab/Cardiac Cath
- A skills checklist must specifically reflect competencies in the required discipline
- A professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or director within the last 24 months is preferred
Orientation
Orientation for the position is available on the following dates: August 3, August 10, August 17, and August 24. Candidates who can start sooner will be prioritized.
