Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $3,271 per week

About the Role

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. This role involves working 40 hours per week on a 4x10-hour day shift schedule, with on-call responsibilities typically including one weekday shift per week and one weekend per month.

Responsibilities

• Perform angiography procedures in the Interventional Radiology department.
• Assist with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, neph tube placements, biliary tube placements, and CT-guided procedures including drains, biopsies, and ablations.
• Perform Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures.
• Provide procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to Angio lab policies and Scope of Practice documents.
• Operate IR equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide patient education and address patient/family concerns.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with other providers following procedures.
• Suture or remove sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis at the end of the procedure.
• Maintain work area and stock necessary supplies.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Use Epic charting system.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience required.
• ARRT(R) certification required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required; must not expire prior to start.
• Active state license required if applicable.
• Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment.
• Demonstrate competency in patient care, patient identification protocols, and infection control/sterile techniques.
• Demonstrate experience in radiography, angiography procedures, and operating imaging equipment.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately.
• Demonstrate ability to provide life support in emergency situations.
• Demonstrate proper use of body mechanics during procedures.
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration.

Additional Information

• Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment.
