Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $3,211 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a position in Highland Park, Illinois. The role involves operating fluoroscopic equipment and assisting physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. IR Techs are also responsible for preparing and observing patients undergoing the procedure and reporting any abnormal activity.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Absorb all diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Maintain thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques on patient and operator exposure
• Demonstrate knowledge of physiology and anatomy to interpret examination requests accurately
• Operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience
• BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) National Certification
• Vascular Interventional certificate preferred
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Qualifications

• BLS, ARRT (VI), 3 Years

Skills

• Knowledge of radiation protection standards
• Understanding of physiology and anatomy
• Ability to operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps
• Good record-keeping skills
• Strong communication and patient support skills

Pay

The pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation).
