American Traveler is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Toledo, Ohio. This hospital-based role involves working in a dedicated Interventional Radiology unit with 3 procedure rooms and 8 beds, serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

About the Role

  • Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • On-call requirements: One weekday call and Q4W weekend call (Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM)
  • Average daily census: 25 patients
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Equipment: PACS system and fluoroscopy
  • 24/7 in-house provider coverage including intensivists, NPs, CRNAs, hospitalists, and anesthesiologists
  • Support staff includes interpretation services, lift teams, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response team, respiratory services, social services, transportation, and unit secretary
  • SBAR communication system utilized
  • Scrubs provided
  • Floating to other units/facilities may be required
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Responsibilities

  • Equipment set up and maintenance
  • Maintaining a sterile field
  • Prepping access sites
  • Working within a multidisciplinary care team supported by dedicated ancillary services
  • Adhering to isolation precautions/PPE and rapid response/code team protocols
  • Performing procedures including:
    • Genitourinary procedures (catheter/drain exchange, embolization, internal/external biliary drainage)
    • Uterine arterial embolization
    • Central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines)
    • Vascular procedures (TIPS, central venous access/port placement)
    • Abdominal and pelvic procedures (chest tube placement, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal, stent placement, thoracentesis)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience
  • ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (VI) preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • OH license required if applicable
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Central venous access experience (non-tunneled/PICC lines) required; care and maintenance preferred
  • Fluoroscopy equipment experience required; Philips and Siemens equipment preferred
  • CT experience preferred
  • Sterile technique and infection control competency required
  • Pediatric interventional radiology experience preferred
  • First-time travelers will be considered
