About the Role

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience in Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures, including stroke intervention and neurovascular cases. This is a travel position in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: September 16, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks (potential for extension through February)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
  • Call requirement: One day per week on a rotating schedule (Monday-Thursday and weekends)
  • Weekend requirement: One weekend every 6-7 weeks
  • No floating required
  • Openings: 1
  • Unit: Interventional Radiology with 3 procedure rooms averaging 20 visits per day
  • Orientation: 40 hours provided

Procedures and Equipment

  • Performs stroke intervention, intracranial embolization, kyphoplasty, carotid/vertebral stenting, nephrostomy, biliary placement, chemoembolization, Therasphere mapping and infusion, mesenteric angiogram, UAE, GAE, PAE, chest port, and perm cath placement
  • Uses fluoroscopy, GE Innova Single Plane, and Siemens Artis Biplane X 2 equipment
  • Epic and Pyxis systems used for charting and supply management
  • Proficiency required in abdominal, pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, and neurological interventional procedures including angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal, angiography, stent placement, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
  • Skilled in central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), sterile technique, and use of 3D imaging
  • Experience with equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, room circulating, and access site preparation required
  • Familiarity with Rapid Response/Code teams and isolation precautions/PPE required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures required
  • ARRT and BLS certification required; ARRT-CI and ARRT-VI preferred (license required if applicable)
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Previous travel experience required; unit will not accept first-time travelers
  • Previous Stroke Certified Hospital experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
  • Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before reapplying, with facility approval required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, stocking supplies, and supporting interventional radiology procedures as scrub or circulator
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units and disclosed at submission
  • Scrubs are light blue and not provided by facility
