About the role
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
- Absorb and pass instruments, maintain a sterile field, monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensure readiness for procedures
- Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guidewires, and contrast agents
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
- Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
- Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- PALs (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification (may be required)
Qualifications
- Ability to read/write in the English language
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must have the ability to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
