Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $2,246 per week

About the role

This position is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for operating the heart catheterization laboratory suite. The role involves operating diagnostic fluoroscopy and cardiac equipment, monitoring patient vitals, performing routine calculations, circulating, and assisting the physician during procedures. The technologist will prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and patients, and act as a liaison to the hospital Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in patient setup and prep before procedures and take down/clean up post-procedure using safe patient transfer and positioning techniques.
• Document in procedure log to reflect accurate procedure and interventions for billing and charge capture.
• Operate radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.
• Conduct hemodynamic monitoring of patients during procedures and report values to the performing physician.
• Monitor delivery of radiation dose to patients to ensure safe delivery with minimal exposure to staff.
• Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in picture archiving and communicating systems (PACS).
• Perform quality control standards by optimizing diagnostic imaging and maintaining fluoroscopy equipment.
• Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations, and communication style.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in radiologic sciences (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• 2 years of experience as an allied health professional.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a highly stressful atmosphere.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to perform complex tasks and detect equipment malfunctions.
• Knowledge of and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory radiation requirements.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call availability).

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice and registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
• IR and neuro IR experience; must be able to scrub and circulate during cases.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Duties are performed routinely with exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The role involves working in patient care areas, directly with patients, and/or with specimens that could contain communicable diseases, posing an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste.

Pay
