About the role
Access Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Salem Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts. This is a 17‑week travel assignment requiring 36 hours per week of 12‑hour night shifts, with floating to medical/surgical units as needed. The MICU is a 20‑bed Level III Trauma Center ICU that cares for adult patients with conditions such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric disorders, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attendings and residents are present 24 hours/day, and the unit uses the EPIC electronic medical record system. Responsibilities
- Provide direct critical care to a diverse adult patient population including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
- Monitor, interpret, and act on telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications, manage ventilators, and perform advanced assessments.
- Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present 2
