About the Role

Deliver critical care in a facility with a collaborative culture and advanced technology. Assess and monitor critically ill patients, operate life-support equipment, and document care in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Valid South Dakota RN license or Compact RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
  • 1.5 to 2 years of recent ICU experience
  • Epic EMR proficiency
  • SSN and DOB required for submission
  • 1 reference in the last 12 months
  • Permanent address over 250 miles from Rapid City, SD
  • Epic skills checklist within 12 months
  • Reference dated within 12 months for job worked within 5 years
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
  • Diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IV medications
  • Ventilator management experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Cardiac experience
  • Familiarity with Impella
  • Familiarity with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
  • Familiarity with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
  • ICU unit strongly prefers 48-hour contracts

Pay

Pay rate: $2046.00 – $2151.00 per week (based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week, with tax-free stipend amount to be determined).

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, for a 15-week duration. Start date: September 21, 2026.
