Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $3,095 per week

About the role

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Kearney, Nebraska. The role involves providing specialized care for adult patients with various critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. The RN will be responsible for titrating cardiac drips and monitoring patient statuses in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage adult critically ill patients with complex medical needs
• Titrate cardiac drugs, insulin, sedation, and troubleshoot vent equipment (e.g., nasal cannula, vent support)
• Read and document strips with GE monitors; interpret telemetry data with oversight by tele tech
• Assist nurse aides and healthcare support technicians based on census
• Participate in orienting new staff with one initial shift of unit-specific training
• Respond to on-call updates and transport within 30 minutes
• Float to PCU or Med-Surg units at a ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU or acute care experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Valid RN licensure
• Ability to pass orientation exams with a 90% score
• No artificial nails permitted in patient care areas

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 08/31/2026
• 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM to 6:30 AM)
• Minimum 48 hours per week
• Self-scheduling available for core staff; travelers may be added in
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Requests for specific time off (RTO) must be made upfront for 7 or fewer days per contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved
• Facility may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment (or three shifts for shorter assignments)

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
