Job Summary

Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position in Nebraska. This role involves providing critical care for adult patients with conditions such as trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. The RN will be responsible for titrating a variety of cardiac and other drips, interpreting telemonitor data, and collaborating with healthcare support staff in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Shifts are from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
  • Self-scheduling is permitted for core staff; travel nurses will be scheduled accordingly. Block scheduling is not guaranteed unless weekends only; duos sharing the same schedule or sharing transportation will not be approved.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid license to submit
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
  • A valid drivers license at submission

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
  • Experience working with adult trauma, cardiac, and vascular patients
  • Familiarity with GE tele monitor systems

Additional Information

  • Unit has 33 beds with an average daily census of 16.
  • Patient care involves trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, adults with sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.
  • RN responsibility includes titrating cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment such as ventilators and nasal cannulas.
  • Nursing staff will provide care, monitor telemetry, and assist with patient management as needed.
  • Must pass a pass/fail skills exam during orientation with a 90% threshold.
  • Nail policy prohibits artificial nails; refusal to remove nails may lead to contract termination.
  • Candidates must adhere to radius guidelines, with travel outside 50 miles not permitted.
  • Shift includes a one-shift orientation.
  • Upfront RTO (return to orientation) request of 7 or fewer days is accepted; additional RTO requests will not be approved.
  • Cancellation policy allows hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Charting system used is EPIC.
  • Trauma level is 2.
