About the role

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a medical-surgical ICU setting on night shifts. The role involves providing specialized care to ICU patients, including interpreting cardiac strips and managing titratable drips. The position supports a 24-bed unit with a mix of ICU and medical-surgical patients, requiring clinical proficiency in both areas and adherence to hospital protocols.

The unit is a combined 24-bed Tele/MedSurg unit with beds allocated for ortho, post-cath/pacer, CHF, COPD, diabetics, pneumonia, oncology, chemo administration, and Covid. Nurses are expected to float to the Medical-Surgical unit if needed. Scrubs are provided in Pewter Gray. Orientation lasts 1-2 days, and self-scheduling is permitted based on unit needs. No call or standby requirements.

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Assignment starts 08/31/2026 and ends 11/30/2026

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to ICU patients
• Interpret cardiac strips
• Manage titratable drips (e.g., Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Cardizem, Lopressor)
• Adhere to hospital protocols
• Float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• At least 2 years of RN experience
• Current tele nurse experience
• Ability to read cardiac strips
• Experience managing set rate drips

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on a 24-bed telemetry/medical-surgical step-down unit
• Ability to interpret ECG strips independently
• Familiarity with Philips cardiac monitors
