About the Role

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse located in Yakima, Washington. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory distress, cardiac issues, and post-surgical care. The position requires clinical expertise and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical care to patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Respiratory distress, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response (A-fib RVR), Diabetes Mellitus (DM), and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) overflow.
  • Manage post-catheterization care, vascular, abdominal, gastrointestinal (GI), and surgical patients.
  • Handle chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitor femoral arterial sheaths.
  • Administer and manage drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin.
  • Float throughout the hospital at ICU level or below.
  • Work with arterial lines, Impella, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).
  • Rotate weekends every other weekend.

Requirements

  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Valid license to practice as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with above and below patient types.
  • Additional experience with arterial lines, Impella, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).

Schedule

  • Shift: Nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • 36 hours per week.
  • Duration: 21 weeks.
  • Employment Type: Travel.
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend.
  • No on-call requirement.
  • Scrub color: Any professional color.

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
