Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $2,212 per week
About the Role
We’re seeking talented healthcare professionals for a travel nursing position in the ICU - Intensive Care Unit at a facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This assignment is for 15 weeks with a 36-hour work week, consisting of 12-hour night shifts.
Unit Details
- Unit: ICU Float (Combination: MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.)
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 dependent on acuity; may be asked to flex up to 1:3. 1:1 for high acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, Impella, etc.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: General - Combination ICUs
- Titration: Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips, including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and more.
- Charge Nurse: Designated charge on each unit; doesn’t take a patient assignment unless necessary. More common for night shift charge to end up with a small patient assignment.
- Nurse Aids/Ratios: None; for sitter needs only.
- Hospitalist/Intensivist: In house.
- Respiratory Therapist (RT): RT in ICU 24/7, designated RT for ICU but may not be on the unit 24/7. RNs expected to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs.
- RT Equipment: Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow; Breathing treatments.
- Tele/Monitor Techs: No monitor tech; RNs are expected to read and interpret their own tele.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7 AM - 7 PM. Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 weeks at a time. Travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling. All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment.
- Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation.
- Call/Standby Requirement: Rare, for low census.
- Floating Requirements: May be asked to float into any other acuity level: ICU, PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele. You can be asked to float between all hospitals in the zone including: Holy Cross Davis, Holy Cross Jordan Valley, Holy Cross Jordan Valley West, Holy Cross Salt Lake, Holy Cross Mountain Point.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color.
- Orientation: 1-2 days with a preceptor.
Requirements
- Must have 2 years of ICU experience.
- Prefer prior travel experience.
- If a first-time traveler, must have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience.
