About the role
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of skilled home health experience and both active Oregon and Washington state licenses for a 13-week day-shift contract serving Hood River, OR and surrounding areas.
This home health setting offers a day-shift schedule of 5×8-hour days (08:00–16:30); 4×10 and 3×12 schedules cannot be accommodated. The caseload is up to 6 patients per day with a standard productivity expectation of 30 points. Patient diagnoses include dementia, Parkinson’s, ALS, MS, orthopedic post-op, and post-stroke. Charting is done via Epic Remote Client for Home Health (on laptop) and the Rover phone app/OASIS. Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination. No weekend or on-call requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational-therapy services in patients’ homes
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress using Epic Remote Client and Rover/OASIS
- Manage a daily caseload of up to 6 patients with diagnoses such as dementia, Parkinson’s, ALS, MS, orthopedic post-op, and post-stroke
- Adhere to productivity expectations of 30 points per day
- Float between all facilities within the state as required
- Minimize drive time by following the facility’s scheduling system; occasional daily driving radius of up to 60 miles (60–90 minutes total) may be required
Requirements
- Active Oregon and Washington state OT licensure required (WA license in hand preferred; OR license may be pending at time of consideration)
- Minimum 1 year of skilled home health experience
- OASIS documentation experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Reliable personal transportation
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Epic EMR experience required

- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates residing within a 50–75 mile radius of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at the same rate
- Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot be within 50 miles of the submitting facility
- Previous employment at a Providence facility (travel, per diem, or permanent) must be disclosed, including location and dates
- RTO requests should be minimal; any requests should be confirmed with the hiring manager
- Business casual attire required; scrubs are permitted in any color but are not required—no jeans
