Travel Fleet Technician

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a skilled Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Nashville, TN. The role involves traveling central Tennessee and includes 100% travel time.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations
• Work closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must live within 1 hour of Nashville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, or Cookeville

Skills

• Proficient in diesel and automotive mechanics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Pay & Schedule

• Pay $36.00 - $46.00/hour (based on experience)
• Pay frequency: weekly pay - every Friday
• Shift: Monday - Friday (Flexible with some weekend travel required)
• 100% travel involved
