Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, along with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), or the ability to obtain these within the first year. Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification is also required or must be obtained within one year. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is important, and national certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent) is preferred. Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
