About the role

TotalMed is seeking an Emergency Room RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Cookeville, Tennessee. This position involves working with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions in a fast-paced, urgent emergency environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long-term care needs
• Document medical history
• Check for any allergies patients might have
• Obtain patient vital signs
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being
• Provide basic bedside care
• Clean and bandage wounds
• Provide IV therapy
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients
• Good skills for coping with stress
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds

Schedule

• 13-week duration
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts
