Travel Endoscopy RN - $1,785 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Endoscopy for a 13‑week assignment in San Antonio, Texas. The role involves providing nursing care in an endoscopy unit, assisting physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a high standard of nursing care to patients attending the Endoscopy Unit, working within company policies and procedures.
• Provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe working practice.
• Participate in the care and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialized equipment, ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination at all times including accurate records of traceability of all endoscopes and associated equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment within the clinical area in accordance with established standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (preferably 1‑2 years).
• Demonstrated expertise in Endoscopy, including understanding of physiology, pathophysiology, endoscopic procedures, and pharmacodynamics of conscious sedation anesthesia and analgesia.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs when moving or lifting patients.
• Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
