Job Summary

The role involves providing acute patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department with a high volume of visits. The position requires adaptability across various ED sections, performing procedures, and maintaining excellent patient interactions.

Job Details

  • Shift: 12-hour shifts, starting on 08/17/2026, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Duration: 8 weeks.
  • Location: Asheville, North Carolina.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid licensure as a registered nurse with at least 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center or high-volume emergency department; at least 1 year of ER experience.
  • Certifications required before start date include ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC (within 90 days).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior HCA experience.
  • Team-oriented mentality.
  • Able to coach and give feedback in real time.
  • Flexibility to work in all ED areas.

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts, every other weekend.
  • Scheduling needs meet departmental requirements.

Facility Specifics

  • 101-bed emergency department with typical staffing ratios of 4:1, up to 7:1 during behavioral holds.
  • Staff work in cardiac monitoring units, triage, and internal processing areas.
  • Use of Baxter pumps, GE monitors, with documentation via Cerner system.

Unit Policies

Attendance policy to be provided on the first day; unit-specific policies will be attached.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
