Job Summary
The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position involves providing specialized trauma and emergency care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The role requires managing a diverse patient population with diagnoses such as cardiac events, strokes, sepsis, respiratory issues, and mental health conditions, all while adhering to department protocols and safety standards.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and mandatory holiday work in November and December.
Required Qualifications
- Valid licensure to practice
- ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC certifications
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a larger trauma setting
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma center beds, triage processes, and management of high-acuity patients
- Float rotation may be required
Additional Information
- The ER features 56 beds, including a separate triage area with 5 beds and 6 private treatment rooms.
- There are 18 designated beds for holding inpatients awaiting bed placement.
- In-house security is provided, and ED staff manage patient holds with support from inpatient RNs.
- The unit utilizes RT-managed equipment such as vents, CPap, Bipap, and ABGs.
- Staffing includes ED physicians/mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, CNAs, and lab personnel.
Certifications & Skills

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
