Job Summary

This position involves providing direct and indirect patient care in the emergency setting. Job Details

  • Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Within one year of certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

About the Role

Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations. Manage pain assessment and education, interpret hemodynamic data, and monitor cardiac rhythms to identify dysrhythmias. Correctly assign triage categories and document comprehensive nursing histories. Maintain accurate and ongoing documentation of patient conditions and treatments. Provide respectful care, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Act as a liaison among administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Incorporate principles of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care. Participate in patient and family education, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safety and infection control standards. Assist with procedures, orientation of new staff, and professional growth through educational activities. Maintain departmental policies and assist in implementing quality improvement initiatives. Be flexible to work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally be exposed to airborne particles, chemicals, or electrical hazards. May be required to transport patients via ground ambulance.

Pay

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
