About the role
Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Johnson City, New York.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary nurse and/or accountable nurse based on unit assignment and safety considerations.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications according to hospital policy.
- Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supplies.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
- Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development, continuing education, and complete all mandatory training requirements.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited school of Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Current Registered Nurse License in New York State (required)
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) (required)
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty (preferred)
- Three years of current experience working in an Emergency Department, including previous travel experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care (required)
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting (preferred)
Schedule
- 12-night shifts, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m., 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend requirement
