Travel Emergency Department RN - $1,708 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking an Emergency Room RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Plano, TX. The right candidate should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience. This 13-week assignment requires 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations, advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries, and plan long-term care needs.
• Document medical history, check for patient allergies, obtain vital signs, and monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being.
• Provide basic bedside care, clean and bandage wounds, and provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment, and report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Physical demands

• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess good coping skills for stress and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI certifications
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Room experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment
