About the Role
Talent4Health is seeking a travel EEG Technician for a 13-week assignment in Edison, New Jersey. This role involves performing routine and complex neurodiagnostic procedures under moderate supervision, supporting inpatient and outpatient EEG services, including Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), ICU, pediatric, and adult patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard and complex EEG/neurodiagnostic procedures according to established guidelines.
- Conduct EEG testing for inpatient and outpatient populations, including EMU, ICU, pediatric, and adult patients.
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety during testing.
- Apply electrodes, monitor recordings, troubleshoot technical issues, and obtain high-quality diagnostic data.
- Complete accurate documentation for patient procedures and departmental records.
- Maintain compliance with departmental standards and safety practices.
- Assist with training and technical guidance for students and new team members.
- Support the development and implementation of Neurodiagnostic Lab and Epilepsy Unit programs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Neurodiagnostic/EEG experience.
- Must have both inpatient and outpatient EEG experience.
- Experience with adult and pediatric patient populations preferred.
- Familiarity with Natus and Nihon Kohden EEG systems (preferred).
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent preferred.
Qualifications
- ABRET EEG Certification (or eligible for ABRET registration).
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Knowledge of EEG and neurodiagnostic procedures.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google productivity tools.
Schedule
- Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8 hours per day).
- Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts per week.
- Weekends and holidays: As needed.
- On-call: Required.
