Job Summary
The role involves working in a sleep laboratory setting, performing diagnostic sleep testing including PAP therapy titration, patient check-in, equipment setup, charting, and equipment cleaning.
Job Details
- Location: Sioux Falls, SD
- Role: Polysomnographer (Sleep Technician)
- Schedule: Night shifts only, Sunday-Thursday, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- At least 1 year of experience as a sleep technician
- Valid license to submit
- Proficiency with computerized charting systems including Natus XLTech Sleep Works and ResMed S9 Devices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
- RPSGT certification preferred
Additional Information
- The sleep lab has 10 beds, with two beds potentially used for pediatric testing
- The unit requires a 2:1 patient-to-technician ratio, except for patients under 3 years old requiring a 1:1 ratio
- Training includes modified EMR training and one shift of orientation with another sleep tech
- The facility is located in a clinic off campus, with secured entrance and neighboring parking, no cafeteria
- The lab may cancel shifts up to 12 hours in advance every 13 weeks
- No floating is required beyond department/unit assignments
- Shifts may include split shifts and will not always be consecutive
