The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) at Magnet Medical provides critical care to patients in urgent or emergent conditions. This position requires a 13-week commitment starting August 24, 2026, working 36 hours per week on a 12-hour shift schedule.

• Triage and Patient Assessment
• Evaluate patient history, conduct physical assessments, and identify urgent health issues to prioritize care.
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed, including IV fluids, antibiotics, pain management, and other emergency medications.
• Perform wound care, splinting, suturing, and other interventions as needed for trauma or injury patients.
• Provide emergency life-saving interventions, including CPR, ACLS, and trauma care.
• Aid in resuscitation efforts, including managing ventilators, intubation, and defibrillation when necessary.
• Collaborate with medical team to develop and implement patient care plans, assist with diagnostic testing, and communicate clearly with the healthcare team.
• Monitor patients' conditions, document all patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the EHR, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital standards for patient care and documentation.
• Communicate with patients and their families about diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans, offer emotional support, and advocate for patients’ needs.
• Follow strict infection control protocols, ensure the ER environment remains safe and sterile, and respond to potential biohazardous situations with proper precautions and protocols.
• Handle a wide range of patient emergencies, manage high-stress situations effectively, and prioritize care based on patient acuity and available resources.
• Provide discharge instructions and educate patients on preventive measures and care after discharge, especially in cases of trauma or chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with emergency room staff, including physicians, nurses, support staff, and paramedics, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Act as a mentor or preceptor for new nurses, students, and less experienced staff members, providing guidance and support in emergency care procedures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
