Travel ED Observation RN - $2,171 per week
About the Role
Travel nurse RN position in the Emergency Department (ED) Observation Unit at a facility in Salem, Massachusetts. The unit consists of 16 new observation beds for adult patients, with a census ranging from 10-16. The role requires the ability to read telemetry strips and involves a clinician-to-patient ratio of 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs.
Duration: 15 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend (EOW) off. Employment type: Travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform general ED nursing duties, including patient assessment and documentation
- Administer IVs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and cardiac monitoring
- Conduct point-of-care testing and patient education
- Apply splinting and utilize critical thinking in emergency scenarios
- Float to other units and rotate shifts as required
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working in one location as an ED nurse
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a travel nurse
- Proficiency in Epic, Asap, and ClinDoc EMR systems
