About the role

Critical Connection, inc is seeking a travel Rehabilitation Therapist Director for a 22-week assignment starting August 1, 2026, in San Francisco, California.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all rehabilitation services (PT, OT, SLP)

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care

  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust programs to meet goals

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations

  • Supervise, mentor, and support therapy staff

  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and productivity expectations

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching

  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members

  • Oversee department performance including productivity, efficiency, and outcomes

  • Manage therapy schedules and caseload distribution

  • Collaborate with facility leadership on census and care planning

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Ensure adherence to Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance guidelines

  • Oversee accurate and timely documentation and billing practices

  • Prepare for audits and maintain survey readiness at all times

  • Monitor compliance with PDPM and other reimbursement models

  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary rounds

  • Communicate effectively with nursing, physicians, and administration

  • Support discharge planning and continuity of care initiatives

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

  • Active state license (or ability to obtain prior to start)

  • Minimum 2+ years of SNF experience

  • Minimum 1 year of leadership or DOR experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of PDPM, Medicare guidelines, and SNF regulations

  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Pay & Benefits

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
