Travel CVOR RN - $3,049 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) for an immediate opening in Wausau, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and will provide professional CVOR care services to support physicians, RNs, and other medical staff. CVOR Travel Nurses demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in circulating for a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures and other complex surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient before, during, and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, and monitor vital signs.
• Assist the physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure the proper handling of specimens.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• 3 years (as noted in the posting).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Good stress‑coping skills for a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
