Travel CVOR RN - $2,858 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position is for a Cardiovascular Operating Room RN with an immediate opening, requiring 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs.
• Assist physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning equipment and supplies.
• Ensure the proper handling of specimens.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
