About the role

Join our highly trained team in a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit where we provide exceptional heart care and recovery services. This unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1, depending on patient acuity, with some holdover downgraded patients being 1:3. As part of the CVICU/CVRU, you will be supported by experienced charge nurses and an educator dedicated to your orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients recovering from heart surgeries, including management of IABP, Impellas, and LVADs.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and perform frequent ambulation of patients.
• Assist with procedures including pulling chest tubes, pacing wires, intubation, and extubation.
• Collaborate with a dedicated ECMO team for high-acuity patient care.
• Utilize GE monitors and Cerner EMR for patient documentation and care management.

Requirements

• Must have BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Two years of CVICU or CVRU nursing experience.
• A passion for surgical heart care and a high-energy, friendly personality.
• If applicable, certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care is preferred.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
