TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Houston, Texas. The assignment is for 6 weeks, 48 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 lb routinely and up to 50 lb when moving patients.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (or as specified)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 48.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
