About the Role

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit in Asheville, NC is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with stepdown and telemetry experience. The primary focus is on caring for patients recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, along with overflow medical cardiology patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients including open-heart procedures.
• Perform monitoring and management of postoperative care, including telemetry monitoring.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips and IV therapies as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide support and education to patients and families related to recovery processes.
• Manage and assist with equipment including IV pumps, epidural pumps, and vital sign monitors.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit is mandatory.
• Prior experience with CV surgery patients preferred.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
