About the role

Fusion Medical Staffing-Radiology is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Bronx, New York. The role involves operating CT scanners to produce diagnostic cross-sectional images, preparing and positioning patients, and collaborating with radiologists to ensure high-quality imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging processes, and position patients appropriately
  • Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
  • Provide high-quality images to radiologists for interpretation
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
  • Maintain equipment and perform routine troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality
  • Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
  • Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities

Requirements

  • One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
  • Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Qualifications

  • Current ARRT Certification (preferred)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical abilities: remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally, as well as without assistance; contend with irregular activity schedules and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
