About the role
The CT Technologist performs a variety of computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role leverages technical expertise, independent judgment, and professionalism to produce high-quality imaging results aligned with department protocols and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate mastery in sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning.
- Operate CT equipment and manipulate images proficiently.
- Understand and apply protocols related to contrast media administration, contrast injector operation, and electronic imaging.
- Recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately.
- Function independently and as part of a team with effective communication and task prioritization.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
- Follow all infection control, sterile techniques, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure accurate documentation and patient care coordination.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols.
- Administer contrast media per protocol under physician supervision.
- Provide patient education regarding safety.
Requirements
- Certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Licensure in the state of practice as applicable.
- Associate degree in radiologic technology.
- 0 years of experience.
Schedule
- Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift.
- Minimum of 36 hours per week.
