About the role
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) for a 13-week assignment in Orange, California.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee a wide range of laboratory tests across multiple disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.
- Interpret results and ensure accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results.
- Participate in quality control and regulatory compliance, preparing for audits and inspections.
- Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
- Train and mentor lab staff, provide performance evaluations, and supervise workloads.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate critical results to physicians and healthcare providers.
- Investigate transfusion reactions and other serologic discrepancies, providing timely and accurate reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Requirements
- One year of recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required.
- Valid license when needed in compliance with any state regulations.
- National certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certifications.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.

Pay
The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
40 hours per week, 8 hours, nights.
