About the role
FlexStaff is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for an assignment in Danbury, Connecticut. Experience in Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology (EP), and/or Neurointerventional procedures is preferred. The role involves operating cath lab and auxiliary equipment, processing images, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and maintaining required documentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for exam, relieves pre-testing anxiety by explaining procedures in layman terms, and ensures consent forms are obtained if necessary.
- Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures; positions patients for radiographs and arranges/adjusts immobilization and supportive devices.
- Adjusts x-ray equipment and operates controls to obtain correct exposure.
- Monitors patient’s condition in accordance with technical and safety standards; promptly reports abnormalities (e.g., fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions) to the Radiologist.
- Inputs patient history data and other pertinent information from requisitions.
- Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archiving disc memory to tape.
- Processes and maintains exposed images; labels film for identification, ensuring proper marking of "right" or "left" side and legible labeling with correct date and patient ID.
- Enters exams onto the daily log sheet and completes correct tracking steps for each examination.
- Performs related duties as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.
Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
