About the role

  • Unit: Cath Lab – 11 procedure rooms (5 cath, 4 EP, 2 hybrid OR)
  • Patient ratio: 1 patient to 3 staff
  • Staffing: Cath/EP Techs, Cath/EP RNs
  • Equipment: GE and Philips x-ray systems, Volcano IVUS/FFR, Merge Hemo
  • Documentation: Merge Hemo and Meditech
  • Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts (6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • Floating policy: Only float to prep and recovery
  • Patient experience requirement: 2 years minimum

Responsibilities

  • Techs: Scrub and monitor cath lab and/or EP procedures
  • RNs: Monitor and circulate cath lab and/or EP procedures

Requirements

  • Certifications:
    • RNs: RN license, BLS, ACLS
    • Technologists: RCIS, RCES, or RT(R), ACLS, BLS
  • Dress code: Scrubs

Procedures performed

  • Cath Lab: diagnostic, PCI, Rotoblator, Laser atherectomies, ECMO, TAVR, MitrClips, Watchman, IVUS, FFR, complex PCI, CTO, Shockwave, Pernumbra
  • EP Lab: EP studies, pacemakers, ICD, ablations (no cryo ablations), Micra pacemakers, loop recorders, lead extractions (including laser lead extractions)
