Travel Cath Lab Technologist - $2,321 per week
Description
Works in a cardiac cath lab at a 304-bed acute care hospital.
Lab runs 4–5 procedure rooms per day with 2 CVTs per lab and approximately 20 cases per day.
Procedures include coronary diagnostic and interventional cases requiring scrub and monitor proficiency.
Charting is done in Epic.
Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (0700–1730), though shifts may extend until all procedures are complete.
On-call is required: one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month plus one call shift and one evening shift per week; call requirements may shift based on staffing needs.
Holiday coverage is required as needed.
No floating to other service lines or sister facilities required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitor techniques required
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA-issued certifications only)
- ARRT or RCIS required (registered or currently in process)
- SC SCRQSA license required if applicable; candidates with a pending license may be considered but must be cleared before starting
- Radiation badge required and must be provided by the candidate's agency
- SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
About the Role
First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler.
Hospital-issued scrubs are provided for the cath lab.
Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date.
All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs.
Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized.
Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams.
Parking is available at no cost via a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks.
Pay
Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
