About the role

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/IR Technologist for a dual Cath/IR role in a Magnet, teaching, Level 1 Trauma facility. This position requires at least 1 year of experience and ARRT/WA Rad Tech licensure.

Daily caseload includes coverage of 4 angio suites and 2 ORs. The facility provides scrubs, and charting is completed in Epic.

Special procedures include neuro interventions (stroke, coils, AVMs, diagnostic cerebrals), cardiac STEMI and PCI, vascular run-offs, TEVAR/EVAR, and body procedures including CVC, drains, and embolizations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepping access sites, circulating in procedure rooms, scrubbing in to maintain sterile fields, and setting up equipment
  • Supporting complex neuro, cardiac, vascular, and body procedures in a fast-paced interventional radiology and cardiac cath lab environment
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Performing cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, and Impella placement
  • Conducting vascular studies including angioplasty, carotid stenting, dialysis graft interventions, and endovascular interventions
  • Assisting with neurological procedures such as carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, and thrombectomy
  • Handling genitourinary procedures including nephrostomy, biliary drainage, and stent placements
  • Managing equipment set up, sterile field maintenance, and scrubbing procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • ARRT and WA State Rad Tech License required (pending WA state license accepted)
  • BLS required; ACLS and ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Proficiency in cardiac cath lab and vascular procedures
  • Experience with neurological and genitourinary procedures preferred
  • Familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment; ultrasound skills preferred
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Schedule

  • 4x10 hour day shifts with variable days including weekends and variable start times
  • Schedules posted in advance monthly on the 15th
  • 4-5 call shifts required per month
  • Some weeks may require covering 8 or 10 hour shifts
  • Start Date: September 14, 2026
  • Duration: 18 weeks
  • Hours: 40 hrs/wk

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
  • RTO limited to no more than 6 days and cannot be scheduled during the first 2 weeks of assignment
  • Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week pay period
  • Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travel clinician
